Catholics inherit the dogmatic tenants of the Church, Protestants believe in agency as their religion. Predestination paired with absolute authority vested in the hands of the Papacy as with absolution and indulgences appears in Catholicism, and this “exporting” of authority appears in the economic system of Feudalism, as mentioned in Mind and Tissue by Raymond Peat, PhD. In Protestantism, the American example of “manifest destiny” exemplifies predestination in a political context; however, whereas the Catholicism promulgated the crusades, Protestantism consolidated authority at the expense of the Church and unto God (as defined by Biblical parameters) with respect to his relationship to the individual believer. Congregationalism demarcates the transition away from hierarchical, centralized social institutions toward decentralization and greater individual sovereignty, which translated into renewed sociological priorities often with enhanced individuation, as with agency (free will), the Protestant work ethic, and economic conservatism.
Catholic ritual (as with the Eucharist or obtainment of relics) fostered spiritual anointment. In tandem with Protestantism’s enhancement of individual legal accountability, it likewise bestowed spiritual authority on the individual and local community, rather than state or king, first within the bounds of the congregation as a group of believers (as with Calvinism). Protestantism subverted the king and Church’s coalescent dual-nature as res sacrae and res publicae bodies. Protestantism re-differentiated the roles of king and Church to the congregation and common law respectively, both of which played ancillary roles prior to and after the Reformation in Europe.
Scientific inquiry has never proceeded without obfuscation from political ideologues, and while modern regressivism opposes stem cell research, further examples appear in the the academic control over the flow of licensing. Disincentives deter specialization without economic benefit, and the extensive, inflated training programs discourages a “well-rounded” development that academic authoritarians so often recommend.
Agency demands energy. Judeo-Christian traditions delineate generative and degenerative behaviors. Degeneration implies an energetic deficit and thus prompts the organism to adopt therapeutic modalities to maintain current function. Substances with greater biological coherence support the organism’s function and structural regeneration by improving energy production. Substances of coherence include thyroid hormone, pregnenolone, progesterone, the androgenic steroid hormones; fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K; the alkaline minerals magnesium, sodium, calcium, and potassium; vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6 and B7; the amino acids glycine, taurine, lysine, theanine and branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) leucine, isoleucine, and valine; aspirin and caffeine; temporary therapeutic aids including the herbs ashwagandha, rhodiola rosea, and ginseng, and also anti-serotonin drugs cyproheptadine and ketotifen Larger dosages of vitamins, or alternatively the use of adaptogens All vices imply a lack of self-control or agency. A more literal representation of the energetic “insufficiency” appears in the Catholic creation of indulgences, which involves both payment and repentance. The symbolic power behind an indulgence lies in the organism’s acknowledgement “Balance,” often in the form of a goddess appears to represent the centrality of equality…
The King’s Two bodies mentions the interplay of the goddess equity (as balance)… and Lady Justice? Earlier examples appears with Hammurabi and his “eye for an eye”
In preparation for the stress of darkness, the body lowers its metabolic rate in the evening, as stress increases up until the first meal of the following day. If the liver cannot store adequate glucose, then sleep debilitate sthe individual and impairs recovery for the following day. Meditation differs from sleep in that it offers a momentary relief from
The success of NoFap relies on the alleviation of guilt delivered through a cultural repression of sexuality. The male orgasm tends to increase prolactin and lower cortisol. Although excessive cortisol contributes to hypersexuality in certain individuals, it tends to impair thyroid function and steroidogenesis, which lowers the level of protective hormones (progesterone, prenenolone, testosterone, and dihydrotestosterone [DHT]) and impairs the sexual response. In any given dominance hierarchy, energetic individuals conquer, as they embody the highest expression of the Nietzschean “will to power” or rather the impression of the self on the environment. Since the energetic reserves of the male determines his “androgenic potential,” or tendency to oppose the catabolic interactions of glucocorticoids, men with robust metabolisms will optimize mating processes, including convsersation abilitlies such as abstract conceptual understandings and extrapolations, humor and wit, charm and frame, and the physical and physiological characteristics will also converge to display a more attractive male with a lower vocal pitch, lustrous hair, a shift in body composition in favor of lean mass, slowed cadence in verbalization, improved posture, vibrant skin with a tendency toward a yellow-red hue, an increased size of the phallus and testes (both structurally in development and functionally due to increase in vascularization), proper proportionality with minimal tendency toward lankiness nor shortness, aligned teeth,
The “flatline” period in NoFap period features symptoms of psychiatric dysfunction, including depression, anxiety, hopelessness, poor coordination and attention, insufficient memory recall, hyperactivity, and suicidality. With NoFap’s removal of the orgasm, cortisol levels acutely increase with lowered prolactin, which can provoke a dramatic increase in sexual appetite. Without adequate reduction in environmental stress, however, and there’s a clear link between depression and cortisol excess. The
The Dunning-Kruger effect involves a diminishment of self-perception of correctness with inreasing intelligence. Different manifestations of the effect appear within the context of a particular task or body of knowledge, and also in the individual more generally. Prior to gaining trial experience, a student of law will romanticize his efficiency in the courtroom. In a more general sense, an intelligent lawyer will maintain the integrity of the learning process and not subvert his own competency to a belief in mastery. It’s useful to think of the Dunning-Kruger as a facet of autism, wherein the autistic person hyperfocuses on a given field due to an insufficiency of brain energy, and the Dunning-Kruger allows the individual to function in this degenerated state without constant reminiscience of his own inadequacy. When adopting the Dunning-Kruger effect, the individual displays “functional escapism.”
Although the symptoms of all personality disorders vary across any given timeline, bipolar disorder in particular gives a clear example of oscilation between metabolic states. We see repeated physiological resistance against overwhelming stress with punctuated periods of psychosis or volatile instability. The increased use of adaptive substances caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol amongst bipolar patients underscores the therapeutic value of such substances. The effectiveness of lithium in treating bipolar disorder, and the biochemical and functional resemblance to sodium in the body alludes to a fundamental, coherent mechanism by which lithium improves energy production in the neurological system.
The consumption of cigarettes after sex enhances the prolactin release and increases the satisfaction of orgasm. The pairing of the two “vices” suggests synergy, as both orgasm and nicotine reduce anxiety, enhance creativity, and alleviate crippling stress placed upon the organism. The reference to the conventional adaptogens, caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol as “feel-good” chemicals with minimal benefit to the body (although the general public now acknowledges the health benefits of caffeine via coffee) stems from a naturalistic fallacy, and one of maximal ignorance. Misconceptions of aging share a similar worldview; the body exists as a system that maintains its structure maximally
